Sciatica Treatment in London EC1
Shooting pain, numbness or tingling from your lower back down your leg — sciatica is debilitating. We find the nerve compression at its source and treat it properly.
What Is Sciatica?
Sciatica describes pain that radiates along the path of the sciatic nerve — the longest nerve in the body, running from the lower back through the hips and buttocks and down each leg. It typically affects one side of the body and can range from a mild ache to a sharp, burning sensation or even numbness and weakness.
The most common cause is compression of the sciatic nerve root by a herniated disc, bone spur or narrowing of the spinal canal. Less commonly, a tight piriformis muscle can compress the nerve lower down in the hip — known as piriformis syndrome.
How Chiropractic Helps
Chiropractic treatment for sciatica focuses on reducing the mechanical pressure on the sciatic nerve. Spinal adjustments restore normal joint movement in the lumbar spine and pelvis, reducing nerve irritation and allowing the surrounding inflammation to resolve.
Combined with targeted soft tissue therapy, dry needling and specific rehabilitation exercises, most sciatica patients achieve significant relief within 3–6 sessions — without the need for surgery or long-term medication.
